Louisiana Mardi Gras
When most people think of Mardi Gras, they envision crowds packed along Bourbon Street with people throwing beads from balconies. While that does happen in New Orleans, the traditional Mardi Gras is much different. It entails dressed up men riding through town and begging for ingredients that will go into the gumbo; the last big meal before Lent. The picture to the side and below both illustrate what that looks like. The last picture shows a classic New Orleans Mardi Gras scene.
